Kids 4 Cats
Small village schools in our study area are often extremely under-resourced, lacking even basic equipment such as enough books. Improving education was a top priority amongst the villagers, so RCP established the Kids 4 Cats initiative to provide much-needed equipment to local schools. Developed-world schools agree to partner with a village school for at least 2 years, and commit to raising at least $500 for that school annually.
RCP liaises with schools to find out their priorities and buy the equipment once the funds come in. As capacity for individual feedback from the village schools is limited, we also partner with the education department at Houston Zoo to provide a biannual report on the progress of the Kids 4 Cats programme and to highlight the schools involved.
To date, we have twinned 9 schools and are keen to do more, so please contact us if you know of a school that might be interested, and would like more information – the email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
